Reading Challenge: An Illustrated Year

10 Dec

I love reading. I love books. I also have a little passion for reading challenges and have participated in a few over the years. After taking a break from challenges I suddenly discovered a picture book challenge hosted by An Abundance of Books. Another reason to read picture books! And an opportunity to share them with my class! Yes please! I think I will aim high and go for Level 3:)

Here are the all important details! Let me know if you join in!

“The Details

  • Timeline: January 1, 2012- December 31, 2012
  • Select your level:
                     Level 1 – Read 12 picture books

  • You don’t have to select your books ahead of time, you can just add them as you go.  If you do list your books in the beginning, you can always change them later on.
  • Crossovers with other challenges count.
  • Digital books count
  • Re-reads count as long as you read them in 2012 and you post a new review for the book.

I’m so glad you joined! I discovered some cool new books for our school library through this challenge last year and look forward to reading your reviews.

Hi there. I am the author of a blog called Rural Women Rock. The site is basically an ongoing series of women being “featured” as a means of inspiring each other with our stories. We are booking again in Jan. after sitting the month of December out. We have featured lady blogging for all kinds of reasons, but have yet to have one teacher blogger. I would love to feature you on our site. You would be the first teacher and the first woman from the UK. Do consider. If you are curious, visit us at, and nose around to see what you think. Thank you for your consideration.

    Kind Regards,
    Kasse D.
